The client’s challenge
Ordering drinks can be a minefield, the sheer choice can be bewildering. Most of us either go with the barperson’s recommendation or (more likely) order the same old, same old.
Diageo asked us to come up with a flavour profiling App that would allow them to recommend the drinks you’ll probably love, without tasting them first. This would allow customers to break out of their 'usual' and broaden their horizons (and, of course, for Diageo to sell them more drinks).
The idea
We took our inspiration from the psychology of taste and the wonderful and crazy world of synesthesia. Following our own research we came up with FlavourVision - a coming together of the science of taste, mixology and digital art.
FlavourVision creates your very own flavour profile – based on your tastes not just in drinks but a broad range of experiences. This is visually represented as a kaleidoscope of colours and shapes, as unique to you as your own eyes. Once complete, your FlavourVision profile is then empowered to recommend a whole new world of drinks you’ll be very likely to love.
